What I'm doing right now
A simple, honest account of where my attention is — professionally and intellectually. Inspired by Derek Sivers' now page idea.
Building at SurveyMonkey
I'm currently leading the engineering organization responsible for our market research platform portfolio in Bengaluru — SM Apply, Market Research Solutions, and Wufoo. My focus right now is on maturing the team's delivery practices while building new capability in real-time market intelligence. The intersection of AI and market research is genuinely underexplored, and we're trying to do interesting work in that space.
Thinking about AI and product research
The large language model wave is reshaping market research in ways that are not entirely positive. Survey-based research is being compressed by synthetic data generation, which creates obvious efficiency gains and less obvious quality risks. I'm spending time thinking about where human-sourced market signal remains irreplaceable — and where the engineering challenge is actually in helping analysts distinguish authentic insight from AI-generated plausibility.
Leadership Consortium — continued practice
I completed The Leadership Consortium program in 2025 and am continuing to work on the practices that came from it. The most useful thing I took away was a sharper awareness of the unconscious patterns in how I run rooms — who I address, whose ideas I amplify, where I close down exploration prematurely. I'm still working on those.
Writing
I've been meaning to write seriously for years and only recently started doing it. Two essays are published here. Three more are in various stages of draft. The discipline of writing clearly about things you think you understand is a remarkably reliable way to find out where the gaps are.
Open to certain conversations
I'm not actively seeking a new role, but I'm always open to conversations worth having. Specifically:
- → Engineering leadership opportunities at the Director or VP level — particularly in organizations building products where the quality of the engineering directly affects users' safety, health, or understanding of the world.
- → Advisory conversations with founders or product leaders building in the AI, privacy, or healthtech space who want an engineering perspective with experience at scale.
- → Speaking at events on engineering leadership, AI product development, or privacy engineering.
